BASIC NOTES on Different of M7 and mM7 Chords (Part 6-3)



Hello long time no see, now I will teach you about M7 and mM7 chords. First, do you know what is it a M7 or mM7 ?.  M7 is abbreviation of Mezzo Dominant. And mM7 we can say Minor mezzo Dominant. They are of them having of each of functions. You can see table of M7 here:


You can see, the dominant of CM7 chord is B. Why B, because C Interval ( n – 2 – 1 ½ ) < M7 ( on B). Do you know, M7 character many used for jazz song.
Example:
Chord Progression of Pop Style : C – Am – F - G 
M7 Style                                     : CM7 – AmM7 – FmM7 – GM7

Try to played this chord on your instrument, after you played you will find the things of different of each of style. And for the result we can finding the formula just like this:

M7 Style:
Chord = n + M7

And for table of mM7 you can see here:

Progressive Chord of Pop Style  : Am – Dm – G - C 
M7 Style                                      : AmM7 – DmM7 – GM7 – CM7

Try to played this chord on your instrument, after you played you will find the things of different of each of style. And for the result by the way the formula are same with M7 style:
mM7 Style:
Chord = n + M7
